Introduction

General Zod is a fictional supervillain who appeared in various comic books published by DC Comics. The character, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, made his first appearance in Action Comics #242 (June 1958).

Zod is a warlord from Krypton who was imprisoned in the Phantom Zone for committing numerous crimes against Kryptonians. When Krypton exploded, he was freed from the Phantom Zone and came to Earth, where he battled Superman on several occasions. He was eventually defeated and returned to the Phantom Zone.

History
