How to Register for Classes at Ivy Tech

Ivy Tech students can register for classes using the myIvy student portal. This process is simple and only takes a few minutes to complete.

So, you’ve decided to attend Ivy Tech! Whether you’re a new or returning student, registration is an important first step in getting started here. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the registration process step-by-step so that you can get registered for classes without any trouble. Let’s get started!

How to Register for Classes at Ivy Tech

Ivy Tech registration can be done in a few simple steps. First, you will need to create an account on the Ivy Tech website. Once you have created an account, you will be able to log in and view the available courses. You can then choose the courses you would like to take and add them to your cart. After you have added all of the courses you would like to take to your cart, you can then checkout and complete your registration.

Create an Ivy Tech Student Account

Before you can register for classes, you must create an Ivy Tech student account. This can be done by going to the Ivy Tech website and clicking on the “Create an Account” link. You will need to provide your name, date of birth, social security number, and mailing address. Once you have created your account, you will be given a user ID and pin number. These will be used to log in to your account and register for classes.

Login to Your Account

To login to your account, go to the Ivy Tech website and click on the “Login” button in the top right-hand corner. Enter your username and password. If you have forgotten your password, click on the “Forgot Password?” link and follow the instructions.

Once you have logged in, you will be taken to your student dashboard. From here, you can view your current classes, add or drop classes, view your class schedule, pay your tuition bill, and more.

To register for classes, click on the “Registration” tab in the top menu. Then, select the term for which you would like to register. Next, add the CRNs (course reference numbers) for the classes you would like to take and click on the “Submit” button.

You will then be able to view your registration status for each class: whether you are registered, on a waitlist, or if there are any errors. If you have any questions about registering for classes, please contact the Registrar’s Office at Ivy Tech.

Search and Select Classes

Log in to

Click the Student Self-Service link.

Click Registration in the Student Records section.

Click Search and Select Classes icon/link. This page allows you to search for classes by keyword or subject, find open or closed classes, and find out which classes have prerequisites or are corequisites. NOTE: If you need assistance with this step, please contact your campus Registration office for help.

Add Classes to Your Shopping Cart

Ivy TechCommunity College has an open enrollment policy, which means that anyone who meets the minimum requirements for admission may enroll in classes. This also means that you can usually add or drop courses up through the first week of the semester.

To register for classes, you will need to log in to your myIvy account and navigate to the registration page. The registration process is entirely online, and you will be able to add or drop courses as needed through the myIvy portal.

Before you begin adding classes to your shopping cart, it is important that you check the course prerequisites to ensure that you are eligible to take the class. Prerequisites are listed in the course catalog and on the myIvy course listings. Once you have verified that you meet the prerequisites for a particular course, you can add it to your shopping cart by following these steps:

1) Log in to myIvy
2) Click on Student Services
3) Click on Registration
4) Click on Add/Drop Classes
5) Select the Term
6) Select CRN (Course Reference Number) from Course Listings
7) Click Submit Changes
8) Repeat steps 5-8 for each additional class

Checkout and Register for Classes

Ivy Tech offers many ways to register for classes. You can register online through myIvy, in person at any Ivy Tech location, or by mail/fax.

myIvy is the online registration system for Ivy Tech students. If you are a new student or returning student who has not yet taken classes at Ivy Tech, you will need to complete the college’s admissions process before you can register for classes.

To register for classes online:
1) Log into myIvy
2) Click on the Student Services tab
3) Click on Register for Classes in the Registrar Services channel
4) Select the term for which you wish to register
5) Add the course reference numbers (CRNs) of the classes you wish to take to your shopping cart
6) When you are finished adding courses to your cart, click on the Proceed to Checkout button
7) Review your registration summary and make any changes if necessary
8) When you are satisfied with your selections, click on the Submit button
